FAQ
Galvanizing is the process of applying a protective coating to either iron or steel. Zinc is the most common protective coating used in the galvanization of iron and steel, this is due to the fact that zinc is extremely resistant to oxidation and therefore rusting.
Galvanized materials should be used in any high-humidity application such as near an ocean breeze or any direct ground contact conditions.
Visqueen is a trademarked name for polyethylene sheeting or “plastic sheeting” from a company called British Polythene Industries Limited. However, some companies will label their polyethylene sheeting as Visqueen in the same sense that someone may refer to a tissue as a Kleenex.
ULTRABOND is extremely difficult to remove after it has finished curing. For this reason, it is very important to clean any spills immediately and be aware of the setting time of the product you are using.
Setting time refers to the window of time when adjustments can still be made to the position of the floor covering without compromising the bond of the adhesive. Setting time is different than curing time.
After applying an Ultrabond product, be sure to protect the installation from light traffic for at least 12 hours. Protect it from heavy traffic for at least 24 hours.
Protect the installation from rain/water exposure and freezing conditions for 12 hours after installation.
